Lets just call this content, shall we?

I have been planning to sit down and write out a good long entry for a long time now. When school started, things got incredibly hectic. Like so hectic I want to claw my eyeballs out. I have been neglecting my not-so secret pals. I have been meaning to write off a long email to my ex-secret pal (that does not sound right? Anyways the wonderful woman I was spoiling) and to the person who was spoiling me. They are both wonderful knitters and I am blessed to have been paired with both of them. Hope you both will remember me by the time I get around to writing!

So what have I been up to? Besides my normal school class hours, my life has been very busy because of the clinic I am doing and the internship I am doing. I am in my last year of law school and working at a children’s rights clinic for part of my credits. This means I represent juvenile delinquents, and children in abuse and neglect cases. I constantly am amazed by how little I know. I am constantly frightened about what I still need to learn. I am constantly saddened by some of the situations I have encountered so far. I am grateful that I am having this experience, but oh my how it makes me want to pull my hair out.

I had my first court date last week. It was for a juvenile delinquent. Let’s just call it a disaster that could NOT be blamed on me. The client didn’t want to meet me. Didn’t want to talk to me on the phone. Didn’t want to discuss his options. He knew exactly what he wanted. He showed up 20 minutes late to the hearing (which was the first time I met him). Then he changed his mind and made a complete 180 in what he wanted the desired outcome to be. I feel I did all right under the circumstances; let’s just chalk this one up for the lesson books.

I passed my MPRE (which is a big ethics test lawyers need to take in most states before they can pass the Bar exam). I passed with flying colors!

On the 24th I have a dentist appointment (joy, not!), so I will get to go home for the first time in 5 or 6 weeks. I cannot wait to see if my sister’s belly is getting big yet. She is already like 4 months pregnant!

I have not done too much knitting lately.

One of my little brothers came to visit last weekend. It was fun, but it cut out my knitting time!

I may just drown underneath an avalanche of books! Too much homework to do. And too much research to do. I have two 30-page papers to do this semester. Therefore, I really need to research and plan these out and not procrastinate!

Daisy,
Don't worry about emailing me. I just check in on your blog from time to time. You are amazing...the children of the world are lucky you care.
